In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.

Dale Carnegie

Flaming enthusiasm, backed up by horse sense and persistence, is the quality that most frequently makes for success.

Success & Fame

Don’t confuse fame with success. Madonna is one; Helen Keller is the other.

On Selling …

“In the modern world of business, it is useless to be a creative original thinker unless you can also sell what you create. Management cannot be expected to recognize a good idea unless it is presented to them by a good salesman.”

David M. Ogilvy

Muhammad Ali

The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.

Plutarch ….

I don’t need a friend who changes when I change and who nods when I nod; my shadow does that much better.

Shirley MacLaine

Fear makes strangers of people who would be friends.

Bell Ceramics rings a bell ……

During the last week I happened to meet a Senior Executive from Bell Ceramics.

I found a quote in his office.

“Do not think a man has done his full duty when he has performed the work assigned him. A man will never rise if he does only this. Promotion comes from exceptional work.”

Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919) - Scottish industrialist & philanthropist, {Founder, Carnegie Steel Company}

Put in context, this quote is about pushing past mediocrity and complacency and finding ways to make a real difference.

From my own perspective, this means creating a business that stands for what I value regardless of making some folks uncomfortable.

The words above might seem over-simplistic and empty but take some time to think about the whole concept.

What is it that will make you shine from the rest?

What is it that will make your look different?

Why should your employer pay you more money than the rest??????

Just normal work is what the employer is paying you for.

If you want more; learn to give more.

I had a similar experience when I interviewed Vivek Menon (Lead India Finalist)

His insights were also on the same lines but will share those articles some other day.

No job is small. If coal miners, farmers and fishermen stop getting up at 4 in the morning we might be in deep trouble.

Love your job.

Make a sound approach not only for life but also for your job.  J J J

The Destination ….

The Destination is on the map brothers .  :)

AIDS & Indian Education …..

One of my less informed colleagues was terrified when he recieved an e-mail telling that AIDS is spreading through needles put in cinema chairs  & other places ..

This is nothing new for me …..

In India we have very less (negligible) if any , sex education. People are just not aware of things … Maybe they choose not to be ..

Like in high school people girls told me that they would get pregnant by kissing … !!!!

Girls thought they would lose virginity by kissing … !!

I come across people who refuse to shake hands with AIDS affected patients.

People are too involved in their lives to know the facts till they really get affected by some disease …

Question - Does the aids virus die once it is airborne? Obviously it can be transmitted via the

exchnage of bodily fluids but, if the infected persons fluids are exposed to air outside the body, does the virus survive?

HIV, the virus responsible for AIDS, is an enveloped virus. That means it’s
surrounded by a lipid membrane. In other words, it’s wearing a coat of the
same material that surrounds living cells. That’s sturdy enough inside a
body, but not outside in the rest of the world. If the virus should be
coughed into the air, or spilled onto a surface like a toilet seat, it would
not survive long enough to infect anybody.

Be equipped with knowledge is all what I can say :)
